Busy Bees: Fleurex Round Up

Posted by Jessica Walton on 25th Oct 2016

Fleurex brings the floral community together as a whole. Competitions are run, Gala’s are held and ideas discussed. This year attracted a great turnout which incited talk of having to move to bigger venue next year! Many great organisations were in attendance such as Fusion Flowers, Florist Up my Street and Florismart, Van Vleit and Chrysal. Industry icons such as Heidi Lawley, Laura Leong, Ruud Hazelaar,Jane Benefield and many more were also around speaking to everyone.

On our stand we had many of our very own Tracy’s creations, using products such as our popular hat boxes used in new and innovative ways. Alongside this our woven Christmas tree attracted a lot of attention. We aimed to try and create things from some of our new products that haven't been seen before. Our pieces were created for display only but we had one person who loved something so much we couldn't not let him have it. He was very adoring so we said yes!

We saw many of our favourite people, including some of our Use Them Or Lose Them ambassadors! Heidi Lawley, Laura Leong and Katie-Jane Hermes were their in different capacities. Laura was dazzling people with her amazing demonstrations on stage.

There was also the smaller Debut Designers stage allowing florists the ability to demonstrate for the first time. This is great as it allows florists the platform in order to kick off their career as a demonstrator and hone their skills with the support of this years very experienced presenter Chris Wolfe. It also showcases fresh ideas and perspectives on the industry to help drive it forward.

Overall their was an eclectic mix of great people at the event, helping to inspire and promote the florist industry. Events like this have many great benefits but I believe that the main benefit is bringing the community together and bouncing ideas around off of each other.
