Celebrate the New Year with Classic Blue

Posted by Danielle Golding on 16th Jan 2020

First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR!

At the end of 2019, Pantone announced the 2020 “Colour of the Year”. The colour experts at Pantone chose the colour based on “what is needed in our world today". For 2019, Pantone chose the energizing and vibrant Living Coral, to restore positivity. To begin the new year and new decade, Pantone has chosen the tranquil Classic Blue.

“Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era,” says Pantone. Whereas Living Coral suggested warm mornings and sunlight, Classic Blue resembles a beautiful evening sky.

We are so excited and inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year. We have gathered products with relevant tones, finishes, and textures to enable you to execute this newly emerging trend in your decor and upcoming projects. The key is to mix different tones and hues of blue to create a calm and soothing vibe, which is ideal for your home.

Artificial Flowers are a perfect way to introduce Classic Blue into the home. Our Elsa collection has muted blue hues that would perfectly complement white or grey interiors.

There are also opportunities to explore this colour palette in the floral industry. Cellophane and ribbon are available in this beautiful colour with glossy or metallic finishes.

Pantone 2020 Classic Blue is also great wedding colour. This particular blue or at least tones next to it can be found in flowers, fabrics and tableware, so it’s easy to incorporate it into wedding decor.

New Year is about fresh starts, and these clean and minimalist colours reflect that theme perfectly. Introduce a little blue into your home, craft projects or floristry to stay on-trend throughout the seasons. From deep navy and aqua to soft grey and pale crystal blue, we have it all at Country Baskets.

So, keep calm this January and embrace the blues, because this soothing colour is set to be strong throughout 2020.
