How To - Faux Flower Frame

Posted by Danielle Golding on 23rd Jun 2021

This week on the blog we are creating a faux flower frame!

This is an easy diy project that is fun to make and is really versatile. You can simply hang the faux floral frame in your bedroom to add an injection of colour. Or you could use it as a selfie frame at parties and you could even attach some string and clip on your wedding seating plan!

What you will need:

Metal Frame - Find in-store |Floral Wire | Garland/Artificial Flowers - we used Artificial Peony Bundle Cream, Richmond Rose Fuschia- Find me in-store, Diamond Rose Fuschia 40Cm - Find me in-store | Rose Garland Cream 185Cm- Find me in-store|Wire Cutters

Step One:

It is always a good idea to arrange the flowers before wiring them on. This is so you can be certain you are happy with how the frame will turn out.

We chose to use a rose garland folded in half as a base for the frame, this created a much fuller look and also hides the stems. We then added in the flowers, making sure to spread out the different colours and textures.

Step Two:

Once you are happy with the positioning of your flowers it is time to start securing the stems to your frame.

We used floral wire and simply wrapped this around the stem and frame a few times to secure it in place.

We loosely wired the garland to the frame to create a more natural and whimsical look. For the artificial flowers we chose to wire these about half way down the stem, this gives you more flexibility should you wish to play around with the angle of the flower.

Step Three:

Once all of your silks are in place, you can now manipulate the foliage and flower stems. We bent the heads of the blooms so they were more visible and did the same with the the foliage to create a more natural finish.

Step Four:

Hang your frame or pass it around. Whichever you choose, you are now ready for a celebration to remember!
