How To - Light Up Heart Wreath

Posted by Evie Calverley on 7th Nov 2022

If you're looking for a fun and elegant twist to the winter wreath, then look no further. This stunning light-up heart wreath is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas without being traditionally red and gold. The artificial flowers and stems used mean this wreath can be up all winter long (just be sure to keep the battery pack dry).

You will need:

Snow Branch 80cm x 2 (11134829)

Frosted Pine Spray 117cm x 2 (11263680)

Snow/Ice Christmas Rose Spray x 1 (11253773)

Poinsettia Spray White 36cm x 1 (11206533)

Frosted Pine Spray with Cones x 1 (11237131)

Heart Hang Vine 50cm x 1 (11240063)

Stub Wire x 1 (120340-1) (check local store)

Step 1.

The first step of any crafting session is to lay out all the equipment in front of you. This makes it easier to see if there’s anything missing and you grab things more easily.

Step 2.

Take your fairy lights and tape the battery onto the wreath. You’ll need to attach this to the side that you plan on adding the foliage to as this will hide the battery pack.

Step 3.

Wrap the fairy lights around the whole wreath - try and ensure equal spacing as this will give the best effect once finished.

Step 4.

Take the frosted pine spray and trim the excess off the end. Line this up with the middle point of the heart and drape it round to the side you’ve attached the battery pack to. Once you’ve got it in place, secure with stub wire and cut off the excess.

Step 5.

Take the artificial snow branch and poke this into the wreath - secure in place with wire and then trim off the excess wire. Point each branch in opposite directions.

Step 6.

Take the poinsettia sprays and place these in the middle of the foliage. They are the main focal point so the rest of the plants/flowers will go around them. Position each one facing away from the other.

Step 7.

Once you are happy with the way this looks, take the stub wire and secure in place. Then, cut the stem off the snow rose spray and attach the flowers together. Then place this on the wreath in the gaps and secure in place.

Step 8.

To finish this look, take the ribbon of your choice (we’re using Deco Web in white) and create a big bow. Create two bows and overlap slightly, take the wire and wrap this over the middle to hold in place.

Step 9.

Twist the wire slightly at the back to hold the bow together but leave enough wire to wrap around the wreath.

And voila - you're done. Are you feeling a little smug? You should be.
