Posted by Jessica Walton on 31st Oct 2016

It's the most wonderful time of the year here at Country Baskets. Why not try making this festive Christmas candle holder using our range of artificial flowers and greenery this season.

Everything you need:

Gisborne Waisted Glass Vase 19 cm
Clear Dish 6 Inch
Chapel Ivory Pillar Candle 18 x 8 cm 75 Hours Burn Time
Cloth Tape Green 50m
Foam Brick Oasis Ideal Wrapped 23 x 11 x 8 cm
Oasis Fix Consumer Reel
Black Florists Wire 2.5 kg
Pack of 50 Dried Natural Cinnamon Bundles
Dried Mixed Fruit
Pine Bundle With Snow 34cm
Variegated Holly Leaves
Artificial Frosted Spruce Spray
Pine PE Wreath With Snow 30cm (find in store)
Cinnamon Scented Pinecones (find in store)

Step One
Fill your glass vase with a mix of dried fruit, cinnamon, pine cones and small baubles.

Step Two
Cut your wet foam to fit inside the clear dish and tape it into place using the cloth tape then Secure the clear dish to the top of the vase using Oasis fix. This foam section will be supporting the chapel candle and all of the artificial products so make sure it is secure.

Step Three
Prepare your chapel candle by fastening four pieces of wire at around four inches in length to the chapel candle using green cloth tape. Now secure the candle to the foam by piercing it straight through the foam.

Step Four
Working around the chapel candle, start building up the design using a pine wreath and wrap it around the clear dish base.

Step Five
Continue to build up the texture by cutting some of the snowy pine picks and spruce picks and inserting them into the foam on an angle to create shape.

Step Six
Insert pussy willow and recess clusters of holly in between the pine and spruce picks for texture.

Wet foam was used in this piece which means you could use fresh flowers instead.
