Wedding Showstoppers - Time For Fun

Posted by Ophelia Harry on 20th Jun 2018

Last week we took a look at Wedding Showstoppers with a focus on decorating the big day. This week we look more at the fun side. Ways to make sure you and your guests have a blast. Nothing worse than everyone at a Wedding, not talking and looking bored. As we already pointed out, your guests are just as important to please as you, so keep them happy with some of these great ideas. Also it makes you look amazing for throwing such an absolutely outstanding wedding. Win win!

Wedding Showstoppers - Selfie Time

Instagram and selfies are a must nowadays. Going somewhere because it's Instagram worthy is a popular occurrence. It's apparent that business's are making themselves as Instagram worthy as possible, so why should your wedding be any different.

The most common is to have an electronic photo booth or a fairly plain backdrop with props, but who wants common. Create a mini bizarre scene if you want to go all out. Add in trendy elements such as flamingos and bright colours to engage the guests. Have a swing for an elegant and whimsical feel. Keep it pretty, add flowers to the framework. This can be a excellent idea if you have an outdoor wedding or access to gorgeously old trees. If festival is your theme why not create a floral tipi. Use silk flowers so when the day is done you can add it to your garden. Other ideas; floral archway, decorative giant chalkboard, giant initials in flowers, a graffiti wall, hanging installation and a selfie wheel which gives commands you must follow. This could give hilarious results based on the commands, and it would be forever documented.

Wedding Showstoppers - Fun Filled Ideas

A wedding day is a long one so prevent boredom for your guests. Food and drink will mostly keep them occupied but there are other things you can do. For some messy fun try pinning lots of paint filled balloons to a canvas paired with a set of darts. You will end up with a memorable piece of art and your guests have fun. If there is cash to splash then why not have yourself a mini funfair. You can hire rides, alternatively go old school with games such as smack a rat, or tin can alley. There are so many different ones, with most of them being easy to DIY if on a tighter budget. If you DIY them then you can personalise them more to fit in with your wedding through colours and style.

For something less of activity but just good fun, try filling balloons with confetti. Line these balloons up where the bride and groom will walk and get the guests to start popping as they walk through. It will create laughter and surprise due to it being so bizarre, but will be good fun.

Below is a real photo from a real wedding, and some words from a real Bride called Sian who also agrees confetti balloons are such great fun.

Wedding Showstoppers - Bouncy Castle

A bouncy castle is a guilty pleasure for most adults. Not many times are you allowed on one in your older years so what a great time to have one. Enjoyed sober or a little intoxicated, it's something that will definitely be worth the money. As well as great exercise to burn off your 3 course meal, it doubles up as a great prop in your wedding photos! If your wedding is child friendly then they will absolutely love you. Just so much fun for everyone!
