How-to: Adorably Alternative Valentine's Day Card

Posted by Jessica Walton on 19th Jan 2018

This adorable card is the perfect way to bring an alternative flare to your Valentine’s Day. The cute design and little details makes this truly unique, perfect for anyone who has a different taste to the usual lovey-dovey style. So why not get creative and see what you can make for that special someone in your life?

What you will need:
A4 White Paper
Black Feathers
Red Heart Confetti
Googly Eyes
Scissors
PVA Glue

Step 1:
Start by taking a piece of A4 card, the higher quality the better, and carefully fold it in half. Make sure the fold is flexible by folding this back and forth, this will mean that the card lays flat so will look more professional.

Now draw your design on the front, make sure to use as much space as possible when drawing because the card will look empty if this isn't taken into consideration.

Step 2:
Next, add some texture to the design by gluing down some feathers. Snipping the ends of the feathers off and using them around the faces of the Bats will look like fur, which adds a nice touch.

Step 3:
Now it's time to bring the cuteness, glue some googly eyes to each of the Bats. You will have to make sure that the feathers which have been glued down before are flat so they stick and won't fall off.

Step 4:
Add a heart by gluing down a piece of the confetti on the left side of the Bats' chest. This can be a little fiddly so make sure that your hands are free of glue.

Step 5:

Then, add the finishing touch to the card by using a thicker pen to write the message "I love hanging out with you".

If you feel like the design needs a little bit more to make it pop, then go over the pencil lines with a black fine-liner.

The easy and simple steps make this crafty card a breeze to make, but still has the wow factor which makes it a winner with so many people.
