Give an extra special gift to a loved one this Valentine's Day! This craft brings the meaningfulness of a homemade and handcrafted gift with the romantic feel of a Rose whilst also being a super simple craft. Also meaning bouquets can be created with ease. The use of crepe paper when creating this craft means that a beautiful texture will be achieved, as well as the right amount of structure so the leaves fall just right.

So grab your craft scissors and get creative for the upcoming season of love!

What you will need:
Florist Wire
Autumn Green Crepe Paper
Red Crepe Paper
Moss Green Tape
Scissors

Step 1:
Start by grouping four or five pieces of wire together and wrapping with the tape from top to bottom, doing this in a diagonal action will make it easier and means the coverage will be even. This will act as the stem of the Rose and means the rest of the elements can be added with ease.

Step 2:Next, cut the red crepe paper into long strips making them tapered towards each of the ends, this will give the Rose a proportioned layering effect and therefore look realistic.

Step 3:
Now start wrapping the pieces of crepe paper around the wire stem, and secure with a dab of glue. Then push the rolls to the top and equally separate the layers so it starts to look like a Rose.

Step 4:Then, add some thin leaves which will surround the base of the flower and position them outwards so they fall more natural. Secure these thin leaves with some glue and then wrap some more tape around the bottom of the flower and onto the stem.

Step 5:
Next, cut the green crepe paper into leaf shapes with some scissors that have zig-zag blades, it's best to start with round scissors to get the initial shape and then cut the edges off with the zig-zag scissors.

Step 6:
Using the glue gun, place a line of glue down the center of the leaves and stick a piece of wire along this. This can then be added to the Rose as leaves, just make sure that they are evenly spaced down the stem so it looks more natural.

Step 7:
The final step is to wrap the stem with the tape again, including all of the leaves which you wish to add. Then use some shears to snip the ends of the wire which are a little longer than the rest, and wrap some tape around the end so nothing snags on the ends.

Now have a go yourself, and make something beautiful for that special someone in your life!
