Country Baskets at RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2018

Posted by Jessica Walton on 17th May 2018

I just want to start by thanking RHS Malvern for treating us so well, we were proud to sponsor such a lovely show and had a superb time. The Three Counties Showground really is a superb place to host the festival. This year we had a new spot in the Great Pavilion of Art and Flowers and we loved it. Surrounded by Floral Art entries, the competing designs lay around us, greeting us each morning with a delightful scent and view. We had demo’s on every day right in front of us and a consistent flow of lovely people coming to say hello, buying from a core selection of silks and vases we had for sale chosen from our huge range of product we have in our stores and online.

We must not forget our amazing flower crowns that you were able to make and wear. They were worn by all ages, both sexes and of course our Country Baskets team. A flower brings such joy and colour into one’s life so it was no surprise our stand merchandisers were known to wear a smile and be filled with happiness every day. There was laughter and fun to be had, especially each time someone had a little sniff of our beautiful silk flowers!

Leaving our tent lead into a world of, well, stalls so many stalls. There were antiques, crafts, jewellery, cards, plants, garden furniture, hot tubs, more plants, garden ornaments, food, and then some. Then there were the gardens, beautifully designed and created. Wild flowers, tranquil ponds, crocheted garden, giant Faberge egg, Billy goats and more beautiful designs. The sun shone for us this year and we were grateful, the gardens were grateful; it was just so uplifting and inspiring.

On Sunday we held a demonstration; the lovely Julie Pearson created some gorgeous designs and she received a great reception. Julie used a variety of our products to create traditional, large, modern, colourful, delicate designs, and as different as they all were they were all exquisite. In addition to Julie’s demo there were many more on a variety of different theatre stages, some talks, some florist demonstrations and others food demonstrations. Lots of people to seek out such as Alan Titchmarsh, Jonathon Moseley, John Torode, Raymond Blanc and so many more. There really was an overwhelming amount to be seen at this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival.

It really was a lovely show with so much to see, watch, learn, eat and buy. Thank you to everyone who came to see us and bought our lovely products. We hope to return next year and have an even better time !
