In this weeks blog we will offer your some faux flower inspiration, to hopefully make your more confident in arranging our gorgeous faux flowers. This is just a guide and of course you can swap and change the flowers and greenery to include your favourite faux flowers and to suit your colour scheme.

Step one: Prepare your vase.

It is important when flower arranging to properly prepare your vase to ensure your stems stay where you want them. We have chosen to create a grid, using floral tape, over the mouth of the vase.

Other options include: frog pins, chicken wire and floral foam.

Step two: Create a base with greenery.

We find the best way to start, is to create a base with greenery. In this arrangement we have used a mixture of faux maple leaves, anethum and hops.

Other great greenery options are: ferns, eucalyptus, ivy, and ficus to name a few.

Step three: Add filler flowers.

We have chosen these gorgeous snowball stems, the shape of these add great texture to the arrangement and create a fullness which is a welcome contrast to the small heads of the hops.

Filler flowers can be used to add texture and movement, they can be small or big depending on the type of arrangement you are wanting to create. Think of the shape of the arrangement to be like a dome, you want to add flowers at all angles (not forgetting the back of your final piece, if it can be viewed from all sides).

Step four: Add focal flowers.

For our focal flowers we have chosen poppies and we have bent the stems of this to mimic the natural and wild way they grow. We have paired these with dainty daisies.

Focal flowers can be your largest flower, or your most unusual flower in terms of colour/look, and will be a flower that will have a definite presence in your arrangement.

Step five: Finish your arrangement.

Make sure you take a step back and look at your arrangement from all angles, not forgetting to bend the stems to create a more natural look.
