It might not 'technically' be Autumn just yet, however we are welcoming the upcoming season in style with an Autumnal Wreath and also showing you how you can make one too!
What you will need:
- Wreath, we used BK1836- please check availabilty with your local store
- Flowers, we used 203442- please check availabilty with your local store
- Wire
- Wire cutters or scissors
- Velvet ribbon, we used RI376- please check availabilty with your local store
Step One:
Using wire cutters or strong scissors carefully snip off all the individual stems from the bush and place to one side. I like to split into piles of flowers, foliage and berries.
Step Two:
Start by adding your foliage to the wreath as a base, we are only covering half of the wreath for an on trend look. If required secure the stems to the base using florist wire, we found that some stems were secure enough when placed in between the twig wreath and didnt always need wiring.
Step Three:
Now you can start to build on your foliage by adding your flowers. I always find it best to add your biggest flowers first and place the smaller, more delicate flowers in any gaps you see.
Step Four:
You can now use your berries in the wreath to fill in any gaps and to add some texture to your wreath.
Step Five:
All that is left to do is hang your wreath. We used our gorgeous new velvet ribbon, wrapped it around the base and tied a bow at the top.
Ta-da, it is really that simple to make your own autumnal wreath using only a few supplies. As the nights draw in and the leaves start to turn we will change up the wreath slightly and wire in some dried fruits to give it a more autumnal feel!
