How-to: Paper Plate Snake

Posted by George Worman on 21st Aug 2018

Have a bit of fun making this cute and colourful paper plate snake. This makes for a perfect project over the summer holidays and all you need is a paper plate, marker pens, a pair of scissors and you're all set to go.

What you will need:

Paper Plates- find in store

Marker pens- find in store

Wiggly Eyes- find in store

Scissors

Step One:

To begin, using a marker pen, draw a spiral on a paper plate starting from the centre working your way outwards. For added effect, try to start the spiral in the shape of a snakes head.

Step Two:

Add patterns to the snake using the same marker pen. You can be as wild or as simple as you like.

Step Three:

Add some colour to your snake. We chose red and yellow in a similar fashion to the poisonous coral snake!

Step Four:

Bring your snake to life by adding some silly wiggly eyes.

Step Five:

Cut your snake out starting at the edge of the plate and follow the spiral inwards.

Step Six:

Make a long red tongue out of paper and glue to the underside of the face.

And there you have it! A super fun and easy to make coiled paper plate snake.
